The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences is seeking a motivated, detail-orientedResearch Assistant IIIto join an active NIMH-funded study on youth anxiety, interoception, and risk for eating disorders. The longitudinal study utilizes clinical interviews, physiological assessments, behavioral tasks, ecological momentary assessment (EMA), and questionnaires.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participant Management:Communicating with participants over email, in person, and over the phone, assisting with participant retention and payment.
- Data Collection:Facilitating physiological assessments, behavioral tasks, and questionnaires both in-lab and online.
- Lab Operations:Assisting with Institutional Review Board submissions and management. Maintaining databases (REDCap/SPSS), purchasing supplies and tracking expenses, supervising research assistants and working with the large study team.
- Research Development:Opportunities for involvement in conference presentations and manuscripts for publication are available but not required.
- Other Duties: Assisting with grant applications and literature searches, entering and coding data, and general organizational and research activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education:Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Child Development, Neuroscience, or a related field.
- Experience:2+ years of psychology research or lab management experience.
- Technical Skills:Proficiency inMicrosoft Office, SPSS, and REDCap.
- Interpersonal Skills:Proven ability to communicate effectively with youth and families.
- Commitment:Ability to commit to at least 1 year (with potential for extension).
