Job Summary
The role is responsible for leading and executing integrated communications strategies across metabolic diseases and other priority therapeutic areas. Acting as a core project owner, this position drives external communications initiatives, manages complex communications programs, and works closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure communications strategies are fully aligned with business objectives. The role also provides strategic counsel on key initiatives and translates industry, policy, and competitive insights into actionable communications recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning and execution of integrated communications programs across metabolic diseases and other strategic disease areas.
Drive external communications initiatives, including media relations, thought leadership development, product launch communications, and major integrated campaigns.
Serve as the core project lead for complex communications initiatives, overseeing end‑to‑end planning, coordination, and delivery.
Partner closely with cross‑functional teams including Marketing, Medical, E‑commerce, Market Access, and other stakeholders to ensure communications strategies support and reinforce business priorities.
Manage external PR agencies and communications partners, ensuring high‑quality execution, efficiency, and alignment with strategic objectives.
Provide strategic communications counsel and insights at critical milestones and for key business initiatives.
Monitor industry trends, policy developments, and competitive dynamics, translating insights into forward‑looking communications strategies and recommendations.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 8 years of experience in healthcare communications, public relations, or related fields; experience in metabolic diseases, diabetes, obesity, or innovative medicines is strongly preferred.
Proven experience managing complex communications projects; experience with product launches or large‑scale communications campaigns is a strong advantage.
Solid experience working with pharmaceutical clients, either in‑house within a pharmaceutical company or at a leading communications agency.
Strong understanding of China’s healthcare industry, regulatory environment, and media landscape.
Excellent project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and workstreams simultaneously.
Strong strategic thinking skills combined with a hands‑on, execution‑oriented mindset.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, highly collaborative environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese.
