Job Description
A collaborative role focused on enabling AI-based drug discovery projects through Internal Medicines’ AI-Driven Cardiometabolic Drug Discovery Institute. This role will partner with IM scientific teams and project leads to foster a collaborative ecosystem where AI and bench scientists work side-by-side to accelerate the development of new obesity therapies. This role will facilitate the integration and effective use of existing AI capabilities, supporting efficiency and accuracy at every stage of our drug discovery programs. You will be responsible for providing technical guidance, hands-on support, and training to project teams, ensuring that AI tools and workflows are leveraged to advance promising programs and foster impactful collaborations.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish and nurture internal and external partnerships to accelerate AI integration.
- Represent IM to external collaboration partners and serve as a networker who forges strong relationships with academic, biopharma and entrepreneur stakeholders to attract ideas and catalyze new ways of thinking about the application of AI to cardiometabolic drug discovery problems.
- Actively manage collaboration and partnership risks, devising and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Communicate collaboration status to senior leaders and act as a champion for the asset to ensure appropriate resources (budget and FTEs) are secured and deployed to facilitate delivery of the collaboration plan.
- Support scientific teams in integrating and applying AI tools to drug discovery projects, ensuring practical impact for obesity research.
- Facilitate access to AI expertise, resources, and best practices by connecting project teams with internal and external partners.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance, training, and troubleshooting to help teams effectively use AI platforms and workflows.
- Assist in adapting and deploying existing AI solutions to meet project needs, promoting data governance and reproducibility.
- Communicate project progress and resource needs to leadership, advocating for support to ensure successful project delivery.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong experience in one or more of the following areas: leading drug discovery programs, or developing and applying AI capabilities for drug discovery.
- Experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or a related field, with a proven record of applying ML/AI to drug discovery, molecular modeling, or systems biology.
- PhD + 5 years, Masters + 7, and/or Bachelor’s + 8 years or equivalent experience.
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
Work Location Assignment:This is a hybrid role requiring you to live within commuting distance and work on-site an average of 2.5 days per week.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $176,600.00 to $294,300.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
