Job Description
InnoCORE M-PAI Initiative | Department of Mechanical Engineering, UNIST
Prof. Hoon E. Jeong’s research group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at UNIST is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the InnoCORE Mechanics-grounded Physical AI Initiative (M-PAI Initiative).
Our research focuses on advanced material, structural, and interfacial engineering for next-generation biointerfaces. In particular, we develop mechanically and electrically robust interfaces between the human skin and flexible electronic devices and explore their applications in wearable biosensing and human-machine interfaces.
1. Research Areas
Candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply:
• Self-Attachable Flexible Dry Bioelectrodes
• Composite Material-Based Bioelectrodes
• Hydrogel- and Advanced Material-Based Bioelectrodes
• Advanced Skin Adhesive Materials and Interfaces
• Skin-Attachable Flexible Electronics
• Human-Machine Interfaces
Specific research topics can be discussed based on the candidate’s expertise and research interests.
2. Qualifications
Applicants should:
• Hold a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
• Have received their Ph.D. within five years of the expected appointment date. Candidates who will complete their Ph.D. before the appointment date are also eligible to apply.
• Have a strong publication record in relevant peer-reviewed international journals.
• Be capable of conducting independent research, designing experiments, and leading research projects.
• Have strong scientific writing and communication skills in English.
Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
• Flexible or stretchable electronics and bioelectrode fabrication
• Polymer, hydrogel, or adhesive material synthesis and characterization
• Physiological signal acquisition and analysis, including ECG, EMG, or EEG
• Micro/nanofabrication, printing, coating, and flexible device fabrication
3. Employment Conditions
• Affiliation: Department of Mechanical Engineering / InnoCORE M-PAI Initiative, UNIST
• Number of Positions: 1
• Annual Compensation: KRW 90,000,000
