The Senior Event Producer, is responsible for planning, producing and executing a dynamic scope of complex, highly visible and inspirational events, aligned to City of Hope’s mission, vision culture and objectives. Events will naturally vary in scale and scope, and may be in-person, virtual, and/or hybrid. You’ll be joining a team that takes great pride in designing and producing event experiences tailored for a range of internal audiences, spanning across our national organization.
As a successful candidate, you will:
Lead meetings with key stakeholders and workstreams to plan scope, strategy, identify goals and format of internal events.
Lead discussions and decision-making about event strategies, opportunities, potential conflicts and other issues related to the audience experience.
Produce and manage a variety of events and productions throughout the year that include program development, creative design, event strategy, script and presentation management, visual elements (graphic and video), entertainment, site selection & venue management, event survey and evaluation, food and beverage management, complete staging technical design/production, budget management, and all event operational logistics for live, virtual or hybrid experiences.
Design and develop the event messaging platforms that includes tenets of our strategic vision, mission and core messages in collaboration with colleagues.
Provide strategic counsel in the development of briefings and talking points, ensuring leadership and all event participants are appropriately resourced with the information and guidance needed to engage stakeholders to and achieve the desired outcome.
Responsible for creating and maintaining key event documents including complex budget, experience and event concept proposal presentations, production timeline, run of the show, contact list, event plan, close report, etc.
Your qualifications should include:
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum Experience:
5-7 years in event planning and management.
Previous work experience in a higher education, development organization and experience with volunteer organizations preferred.
Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills both in person, by email and by phone, with a high level of professionalism.
- Strong organizational and time management skills; process oriented.
- Ability to accomplish multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with little supervision.
- Ability to work well under pressure while displaying tact and courtesy to others.
- Conflict Management, during production work, some conflict will arise, needs to be able to manage the conflict and provide effective solutions to the issues.
- Excellent proofreading and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Prepare reports, event/project plans, dashboard and concept plans.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $37.11 - $57.52 / hour
The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
