The Opportunity
We are now offering an exciting opportunity for senior researchers (Level C) to lead and conduct independent and team-based research that will involve the development of relations between other relevant researchers, industry partners and other government organisations. In addition, you will continue to develop your research skills and contribute to research training.
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading an innovative and impactful research program
- Strengthening national profile and emerging global presence
- Pursuing and managing external research funding
- Providing research leadership and mentorship
- Fostering interdisciplinary and applied research
This is a Full Time, Fixed Term position available for a period of 3 years at the classification of Level C. The full-time equivalent salary range is $134,004.58 per annum to $154,514.27 per annum plus 17% superannuation.
About You:
You are a mid-career researcher with a growing research track record and research excellence and impact. You are driven by a passion for advancing in your discipline. As a mid-career researcher, you will have between five and ten years of research experience post-PhD or an equivalent period when adjusted for significant career interruptions. This role is suited to outstanding mid-career researchers with a growing national research profile with demonstrated potential for international standing.
You will have:
- A PhD in a relevant discipline.
- An established and growing record of high-quality research outputs, with national recognition and emerging international standing.
- Evidence of securing and managing competitive external research funding, including partner engagement and project delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research that contributes to advancing knowledge within a disciplinary or interdisciplinary context.
Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This role requires current valid work rights for Australia. Relocation assistance will be provided to overseas and interstate Fellows in line with VU policy.
