Dr. Zhao's Lab at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, is recruiting for postdoctoral researcher positions. Job Duties
- ConductsResearch Experiments: Postdoctoral researchers in Dr. Zhao's lab will design, execute, and analyze complex experiments related to interoception, utilizing techniques such as AAV-based viral tracing, whole-mount tissue clearing, and single-cell transcriptomics. They will also be involved in integrating multi-omics data for bioinformatics positions.
- Conducts Data Analysis and Interpretation: Researchers will analyze experimental data using advanced statistical methods and bioinformatics tools. They will interpret results in the context of existing literature and prepare findings for publication in top-tier journals.
- Conducts Lab Management and Collaboration: Postdoctoral researchers will mentor junior lab members, manage day-to-day lab operations, and collaborate closely with team members across different disciplines to drive the lab's research objectives forward.
- Conductsand overseeshigh-stakes experiments with a focus on neurobiology and immunology.
- Collaborateson interdisciplinary projects that combine expertise in neuroscience, bioinformatics, and computational science.
- Preparesand submitsgrant proposals to secure additional funding for lab research.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in neuroscience, immunology, bioinformatics, or related fields.
- Experience with advanced experimental techniques in neuroscience, immunology, bioinformatics, or related fields.
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals, demonstrating a solid research background.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a strong motivation for scientific discovery.
