Summary
A postdoctoral fellowship position is available to study ovary development and oocyte biology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, USA. Primary studies will utilize cutting-edge imaging, omics, and novel genetic models to understand the basis of female gonad development. Applicants will also participate within the larger Reproductive Biology community of faculty and pre- and postdoctoral fellows funded by the NICHD T32 in Reproductive Sciences.
Job Duties
- Designs and conducts experiments in a biomedical research lab in the area of reproductive sciences that relies on animal models (small and large) and human samples.
- Carries out independent research that includes experimental design, benchwork, data analysis, data management, manuscript writing, grant writing, and mentoring of lab members.
- Attends and presents data at regional and national conferences to present work.
- Participates in activities on the Reproductive Biology Training grant, including coursework, journal club, and career development activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Postdoctoral trainees must have received, as of the beginning date of the appointment, a Ph.D., M.D., D.D.S., or comparable doctoral degree from an accredited domestic or foreign institution including an MBBS.
- Experience in reproductive biology, genomics/epigenomics, or developmental biology is preferred. Candidates with strong backgrounds in these fields or in related fields (e.g. molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, etc.) are welcome to apply.
