Job Description
One postdoctoral position is open for an energetic, motivated scientist interested in cardiovascular research. Specifically, we investigate therapeutic angiogenesis for ischemic diseases and underlying molecular mechanisms in in vitro and in vivo animal models.
Applicants are expected to conduct active lab research on a semi-independent basis: develop new ideas that promote the project; bring new expertise to the research program; design and evaluate experiments; conduct experiments; data collection, analysis, and graphing; present research progress intramurally and extramurally; prepare and publish scientific manuscripts under the direction of the principal investigator (PI).
Applicants are expected to have expertise in cellular and molecular biology techniques and in laboratory rodent handling. Excellent organizational skills, knowledge of computer applications such as Office and EndNote, and the necessary English proficiency to implement research projects. Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to set priorities, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work productively with diverse populations; showed respect and sensitivity for cultural differences.
Applicants are expected to perform other duties assigned by the PI, such as assisting the PI in training graduate/undergraduate students.
