Responsibilities
The Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (https://omrf.org/) is seeking accomplished or upcoming investigators with expertise in aging as it relates to neuroinflammation and/or neurodegeneration to join the Aging and Metabolism Research Program. Successful candidates will be expected to maintain a vigorous independent research laboratory investigating mechanisms relevant to CNS aging associated with one or more of the following areas of special interest: inflammatory processes, circuits relevant to cognition/behavior, immune cell function, and bioenergetics. Successful candidates will receive an appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Member level (Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor equivalents), dedicated research space, as well as a generous, multi-year start-up package with significant sustained salary and research support.
The Aging and Metabolism Research Program is comprised of thirteen faculty members studying a variety of diseases related to the aging process, including neurological, metabolic, musculoskeletal, and cardiovascular disorders. OMRF supports an AAALAC accredited animal facility as well as state-of-the art core facilities for imaging, -omics technologies, tissue banking, and other facilitating resources. OMRF investigators are integral participants in OUHSC graduate programs and enjoy close scientific interactions with OUHSC and Oklahoma City VA faculty.
