Job Description
The Nanoscience and Technology Division/Center for Nanoscale Materials (CNM) at Argonne National Laboratory has an available Postdoctoral Appointee position focused in the area of electronic polymers, including but not limited to mixed ionic and electronic polymers, conjugated polymers, neuromorphic devices, organic electrochemical transistors (OECT), etc. The position is funded for one year and renewable up for three years (subject to performance evaluation).
We are seeking highly motivated and independent postdoctoral researchers to join our autonomous material discovery research team to carry out research on functional polymer design and experimental automation design. Applicants with the background from a range of areas, including but not limited to mixed ionic and electronic polymers synthesis, conjugated polymer designs, polymer-based neuromorphic devices characterization are welcomed.
The successful candidate will have access to state-of-the-art research facilities and gain in-depth knowledge of the research frontiers in the fields of autonomous material discovery. He/she will also have the opportunity to be a part of a world-class scientific team and involved in vigorous research programs.

Position Requirements
- A PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Polymer Science and Engineering, or a related discipline. Degree must have been received within the last 3 years or upcoming year.
Background in polymer-based neuromorphic devices, mixed ionic and electronic polymers, conjugated polymers.
Experience in programming is desired but not required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong skills in collaboration and ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment.
