The Desert Research Institute's (DRI's) Division of Hydrologic Sciences is seeking an innovative postdoctoral researcher with expertise in the application of Time of Flight Mass Spectrometry (TOF-MS) to environmental science research. This position is located in DRI’s Northern Nevada Science Center in Reno, NV. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for method development of the newly acquired TOF-MS instrument and application of the TOF-MS to a variety of environmental samples. Candidates that have past experience measuring atmospheric aerosol and/or microplastic samples with TOF-MS are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will contribute to DRI’s growing research on wildfire environmental impacts and microplastics. In addition to research duties, the candidate will have opportunities to participate in grant writing and proposal development. The research will be based primarily in Reno, although exchanges with collaborating laboratories are anticipated.
