Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join the Dax Fu lab for two open positions dedicated to the development of targeted therapies for diabetes. Our drug-delivery platform is founded on the recent discovery of a cell-surface ZnT8 autoantibody with the unique ability to home in on pancreatic islets in vivo (PMID: 36448936). Our ongoing research comprises three aspects: (1) assessing the in vivo effectiveness and safety of beta-cell regenerative treatments using mouse models of diabetes, (2) characterizing the absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion of antibody-drug conjugates, and (3) uncovering mechanisms of action at various levels from single-cell omics to tissue section immunohistology and whole-animal noninvasive imaging. We welcome candidates who have obtained a Ph.D. or M.D. within the past four years to join our dynamic and energetic team. The research projects related to drug development are supported by a Johns Hopkins University spin-off biotech, while comprehensive mechanistic studies are NIH funded. Successful candidates will focus on their chosen individual projects while actively collaborating with the team to advance drug leads towards clinical trials. Background and research experience in molecular and cellular biology, immunology, mouse models, or drug regulatory submission are essential, along with demonstrated expertise in at least one of these fields. If this opportunity aligns with your career interests in either pharmaceutics or academia, please don't hesitate to submit your cover letter and CV to: [email protected].
