Summary
The Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine section in the Department of Medicine is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to join Dr. Wu's clinical research group at the Airways Clinical Research Center. Postdoctoral Associates are trainees working in an apprenticeship mode in preparation for a career as a scientific professional.
Job Duties
- Plans, directs, and conducts clinical research studies that involve human subjects.
- Develops, revises, and maintains research protocols, standard operating procedures, and manual of operations.
- Maintains certification and credentials necessary for human subjects research.
- Liaises with study sponsors, regulatory officials, and patient-facing clinical services.
- Collects data in a reproducible and rigorous way.
- Summarizes research results for publication.
- Presents results at academic conferences.
- Assists with grant preparation.
- Recruits and communicates with research participants.
- Performs specialized testing of pulmonary function, including spirometry, oscillometry, and bronchoprovocation.
- Performs phlebotomy and basic laboratory procedures, such as centrifuge operation and micropipetting.
- Administers study questionnaires.
- Enters study results into structured databases and perform data quality checks within the same.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Spanish language fluency strongly preferred.

- Demonstrates knowledge of internal and/or external customer needs, both current and future; addresses complaints, makes realistic commitments, and effectively communicates needs.
