We strive to research behavioral and lifestyle interventions for health promotion. Our faculty have many expertise which include injury prevention studies, obesity prevention, statistical modeling and many more. Our mission in whole is to improve health and prevent illnesses. As the Institute of Public and Preventative Health we achieve our mission through research, service, leadership, and training. Our vision includes health behavior screening and education, community health update for public and private stakeholders, public and preventative health seminar series and development of new public health research projects.
Job Summary
The Postdoctoral Fellow will join an ACL-NIDILRR funded project that will assess the relationship of social determinants of health and health utilization among Medicare and Medicaid enrolled people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The postdoctoral scholar will be responsible for data curation, analysis, and writing scientific manuscripts, as well as regulatory and ethical human subjects documentation and management of study binders and materials.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop county level metrices using various large U.S. data sets.
- Analyze MMLEADS data.
- Summarize and evaluate findings in extant literature, including infographics.
- Prepare manuscript for publication in scientific journals.
- Develop policy briefs.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Population Health, Health Promotion, Health Services, Health Policy, Allied Health, Biostatistics, Health Economics, or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in handling large data sets; Proficiency in Stata; Ability to complete work and to meet deadlines; Ability to work independently with only general supervision; Demonstrated publication history
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to maintain confidentialityExcellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
