Job Description
General Summary of Position:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled postdoctoral research associate to join our data science research team at the UMass BioNLP group: https://bio-nlp.org/. The successful candidate will work on epidemiological and data science studies focused on understanding the distribution, social determinants, and outcomes of mental health, substance use, cardiovascular and Alzheimer’s disease conditions in populations, using large electronic health record databases.
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
A Ph.D. in epidemiology, biostatistics, computer science or a related field
Strong knowledge and experience in epidemiological or data science study design and statistical analyses or natural language processing and machine learning
Experience in analyzing large, complex data sets
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and project management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Additional Considerations:
Experience in analyzing data using R, SAS or other statistical software
Experience in conducting population-based studies
Experience in the use of electronic health records (EHR) or other health care data sources
Experience in conducting epidemiological studies focused on mental health, substance use, cardiovascular or Alzheimer’s disease conditions
