We strive to research behavioral and lifestyle interventions for health promotion. Our faculty have many expertise which include injury prevention studies, obesity prevention, statistical modeling and many more. Our mission in whole is to improve health and prevent illnesses. As the Institute of Public and Preventative Health we achieve our mission through research, service, leadership, and training. Our vision includes health behavior screening and education, community health update for public and private stakeholders, public and preventative health seminar series and development of new public health research projects.
Job Summary
A training position designed to promote learning and career development through engagement with advanced level work in Health Ethics and Policy, and in support of research efforts of faculty within the Center for Bioethics and Health Policy/Institute of Public and Preventive Health. To participate in research in the fields of applied health ethics broadly understood, including clinical ethics and public health ethics. To present at local and national conferences, help generate applications for external grant funding; and actively support the research culture of the Center for Bioethics and Health Policy. Develop and sustain knowledge of state-of-the-art literature relevant to applied health ethics; publish results in high impact journals. Perform other duties as required, including but not limited to, literature searches and reviews, identifying funding opportunities, support recruitments processes, and community engagement work. Preference wil be given to applicants who work within or across the research priority areas of CBHP: Ethics and the Health Professions; Public Health: Ethics and Policy; and Community Engagement, Social Justice and Advocacy.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to: Participate in project planning and development of research applications while insuring adherence to accepted scientific research principles and compliance with relevant federal guidelines. Coordinate and participate in research of ethical and health literature literature; summarize and evaluate findings; develop derivative applications of techniques developed by own research activities or reported by other research projects. Presents findings at scientific meetings locally, nationally and internationally. Research and write articles for publication in high impact journals; review articles prepared by others. Supervise and coordinate activities of students, graduate assistants and other research personnel engaged in research activities. Advise principal investigators, other postdocs, students and other research personnel on research techniques, procedures and other technological aspects of research activities. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. or equivalent from an accredited college or university.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
