Job Description
Summary
This is a postdoctoral position to investigate the mechanisms of inner ear regeneration. Our lab has recently shown we can drive hair cell regeneration in the cochlea using transcription factor reprogramming. The candidate will use genetically engineered mice and AAV gene delivery to understand the transcriptional and epigenetic mechanisms of reprogramming in the inner ear, and to develop gene therapy strategies using these approaches.
Job Duties
- Performs experiments using genetically modified mice, keeping a record of all results and compiling data for publication in research articles and for use future grant proposals.
- Performs transgenic mouse breeding, colony maintenance and genotyping.
- Performs histological analysis of transgenic mice and image capture using fluorescent, confocal and light sheet microscopy. AAV gene delivery to the ear.
- Performs purification of labeled inner ear tissue using flow cytometry.
- Preparesbulk and single cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq and CUT&RUN libraries and analysis of sequencing data.
- Presentsresults and preparation of manuscripts for publication.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in biomedical sciences.
