Job Description
Summary
The Department of Family and Community Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine is offering an innovative full-time primary care research fellowship to doctoral students and residency graduates , including those with clinical and non-clinical research degrees. This fellowship features a two-year core curriculum, emphasizes multidisciplinary team-based mentoring, and offers a diverse spectrum of primary care research opportunities. An optional third year will be available to fellows who desire further expertise and preparation in a certain field or area of primary care research (e.g., cost-effectiveness analysis).
Job Duties
- Completes applied research projects.
- Prepares and submits scholarly articles.
- Attends scientific networking workshops/conferences.
- Participates in writing grants for extramural funding with the assistance of a faculty mentoring team.
- Attends bi-weekly didactic and applied sessions as part of the core curriculum, as well as a monthly research seminar and Fellows' Forum.
- Interacts, serve as peer reviewers and advisors to one another, and provides feedback to the faculty regarding the quality and direction of the fellowship training program.
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD).
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a clinical residency in a primary care program.
- Interests and goals that align well with the local and/or national primary care research agenda.
- Demonstrated commitment to or involvement in activities related to primary care.
