Job Description
The Columbia University Medical Center Department of Dermatology within the Basic Science Research Group is seeking highly motivated, postdoctoral research associates interested in working on skin biology, skin diseases and cancer, and immunology. This is an excellent opportunity to join a vibrant, diverse, and collaborative team of basic and translational investigators. This position requires expertise and experience in cell culturing, molecular biology techniques, biochemistry, immunofluorescence microscopy, cellular cryopreservation, molecular cloning, gene expression and computational analysis of large data sets.
Qualifications:
Ø PhD or equivalent is required
Ø Experience in a research laboratory with human and mouse cell line models
Ø Setting up, maintaining, and efficiently operating cost effective laboratory operations
Ø Experience working in skin biology, skin cancer and immunology.
Ø Knowledge in development proof of concept studies to test therapeutic strategies using innovative technologies
Ø Experience in educating and training other scientists and technicians in lab techniques
Ø Computational analysis of RNAseq and single cell methods a plus
Other Skills & Abilities
Ø Ability to write and present data in national and international conferences
Ø Strong written and oral communication skills
Ø Good organizational skills and details-oriented
Ø Ability to work independently and in a team environment
