Job Description
A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Chongyi Chen at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health (NIH). The potential projects are to investigate the dynamics and regulation of DNA topology upon mitotic chromosome condensation, and to investigate the role of DNA topology in gene expression regulation in human cells. The Chen lab study chromatin structure, DNA topology, and gene expression regulation in human cells, by various genomic technologies and single-cell sequencing assays newly invented in the lab. The laboratory is located in the NIH main campus, together with >1000 labs, and >100 National Academy of Sciences/Medicine members. NIH postdocs have access to first-class research facilities, enjoy outstanding salary and benefits often better than their counterparts in universities. We are stably and sufficiently funded intramurally without the pressure of securing grants from time to time, thus have the privilege to focus on producing high-quality science.
We are looking for candidates with strong backgrounds in molecular cell biology, genomics, bioinformatics, or related fields who are passionate and self-motivated in research. Candidates with prior experience in chromatin biology or omics data analysis are especially encouraged to apply.
