Job Description
Summary
The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, Dr. Feng Yang's lab is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Associate to assist in research in his laboratory in the area of research which involves the investigation of the molecular mechanisms underlying therapy-resistance of human cancers. The specific goal of this research is to target the study area of understanding. The research project will focus on understanding the molecular mechanisms regulating MAPK4 driving breast cancer progression and therapy resistance using multi-disciplinary approaches, including using human cancer cell lines, xenograft models, and transgenic/knockout mouse models. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently and be highly self-motivated.
Dr. Feng Yang is seeking this position to focus on research from his Cancer Prevention Research Grant. The Postdoctoral Associate is the main person to perform most experiments to achieve the goal of this project. Therefore, we cannot do anything for this project without a Postdoctoral Associate to oversee and prepare the experiments for the project. The results of the research findings will result in additional funding.
Job Duties
- Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
- Evaluates and analyzes data.
- Reports findings to senior PI.
- Participates in lab meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience Required: experience in molecular biology and cancer biology.
