Are you an enthusiastic and experienced researcher in sensor systems? Do you want to join a world class multidisciplinary team with industry partners? Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge to develop smart sensor systems for diabetic foot assessment – a huge healthcare burden?
We are looking for a Research Fellow with expertise in sensing and mechatronics to work with us in the Healthcare Mechatronics Group on exciting research to advance healthcare technology for people with diabetes: 'Socksess'-Smart Sensing Socks For Monitoring Diabetic Feet & Preventing Ulceration’
In this role you will take the lead in the development and evaluation of textile-based sensing technology, to creating an instrumented ‘sensory sock’ for diabetic foot assessment. You will support project partners with evaluation of the technology, and conduct pioneering work on developing innovative human-centred feedback systems to relay information back to the person wearing the system.
You will have a strong interest in the sensing systems and healthcare technology. Holding both a PhD (or have submitted your thesis before taking up the role), and a Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics and Robotics, or a related discipline, you will have experience in the development and evaluation mechatronics and sensor systems, ideally applied to healthcare.
