What You Will Achieve
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist to join the Molecular Assessment and Profiling group in BioMedicine Design as part of large molecule therapeutic discovery effort. The candidate will work with an innovative team of scientists to develop RNA-based therapeutics to bring curative treatments to patients. This individual will plan, execute and provide in-depth biochemical and biophysical characterization of RNA-based therapeutics in discovery research and development. In addition, this person will contribute to the development of innovative assays/methods for RNA/LNP physicochemical characterization. Successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects and contribute to team’s deliverables.
How You Will Achieve It
Perform comprehensive molecular characterization, biophysical analysis, and stability assessment of RNA-based therapeutics
Critically analyze and present experiment results across multiple teams spanning general to subject expert audiences
Provide scientific guidance and decision to move project along discovery pipeline
Drive technology innovation; evaluate new technologies and instrumentations
Work closely with cross-functional teams including therapeutic discovery teams, production groups, MS and development organization to plan and execute deliverables
Qualifications
Must-Have
MS with 5+ years or PhD with 0-3 years of relevant experience in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics or related discipline
Knowledgeable with a wide range RNA and lipids nanoparticle characterization techniques including RNA integrity (5’ capping, 3’ polyA and CGE), chromatography techniques (SEC, RP-HPLC/UPLC), LNP lipid characterization, RNA packaging efficiency, zeta-potential charge and DLS size/PDI analysis
Hands on molecular biology experience with qPCR/ddPCR (including primer/probe design), method validation, assay development, and troubleshooting
Ability to manage multiple projects with overlapping timelines.
Highly organized, excellent communication, presentation and documentation skills
Nice-to-Have
Experience in therapeutic drug discovery and biochemistry research
Working experience with RNA and LNP analytics is highly desirable
Demonstrated track record of independent research and scientific publications in peer reviewed journals
