Job Description
Summary
The laboratory of Dr. Sameer Sheth is looking for a postdoctoral researcher interested in studying human cognition and decision-making using intracranial recordings in neurosurgical patients. The lab focuses on studying the pre-frontal and medio-temporal circuits involved in decision-making using single neuron and LFP recordings (e.g., Sheth et al. Nature 2012; Smith et al. J Neurosci 2015, Smith et al. Nat Neuro 2019; Myers et al. in press 2022). Primary roles include experimental design and implementation, data collection, analysis, and publication of results.
Job Duties
- Designs new experiments to test overall project hypotheses.
- Implements new experiments locally and assists in implementation at collaborating sites.
- Spearheads data collection efforts, and oversees data collection at collaborating sites.
- Processes, curates, and analyzes collected data to evaluate project predictions.
- Communicates results and conclusions to the larger scientific community through conferences, meetings, publications, etc.
- Works with colleagues in the EMU to collect data from patients.
- Works with colleagues across collaborating sites to gather and share data in a common, unified format.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
