Job Description
The successful candidate will perform innovative research to observe and understand the role of morphogenic interfaces in stabilizing electrochemical energy storage (specifically solid-state Li-ion batteries). These studies will focus on X-ray imaging studies to image the evolution of defects during electrochemical cycling.
Position Requirements
Knowledge of synchrotron-based x-ray imaging techniques for in situ and operando studies to probe structure and reactivity (e.g., X-ray microtomography, transmission X-ray microscopy and X-ray diffraction)
Knowledge of materials science, battery electrochemistry, and data analysis
Skill in working interactively and productively in a multidisciplinary environment and good ability to work independently
Skill in oral and written communication with a record of publication and external recognition in relevant areas
This level of knowledge is typically achieved through a formal education in materials science, interfacial chemistry at the Ph.D. degree level with zero to three years of experience or equivalent in the scientific application of this knowledge and practical laboratory experience
This position may require the ability to travel for work at out-of-state synchrotron facilities when required
