Position Summary
Two Postdoctoral Associate positions in developing novel hydrogels for guiding cell fate processes of pluripotent/multipotent stem cells (position #1) and metastatic cancer cells (position #2) are available in the laboratory of Dr. Chien-Chi Lin in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). The Lin Research Group utilizes dynamic bioorthogonal chemistries to construct user- and cell-responsive hydrogels. In addition to developing next generation smart hydrogels, members of the Lin Research Group also utilize state-of-the-art biofabrication technologies and cellular/molecular/genomic analysis tools to study cell-matrix interactions. The lab has active collaborations with Indiana University School of Medicine, School of Dentistry, IU Center for Regenerative Medicine and Engineering, IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Purdue School of Science.

Basic Qualifications
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Sciences and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Molecular and Cell Biology, or related fields. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise and background in polymer and/or peptide synthesis, mammalian cell culture, live cell imaging, cell and molecular biology techniques, and 3D bioprinting. Experience in animal models is also preferred. Candidates should have excellent written and verbal English communication skills and have experience/interests in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.

The initial appointment is for 12 months and funding is renewable contingent on satisfactory performance.
