Job Description
Two postdoctoral or more senior research positions are available in Prof. Robert Prud'homme's lab in Princeton's Chemical and Biological Engineering Department. The researchers will work on projects related to the lab's nanoparticle research. One area is a Gates-funded project to enhance drug bioavailability by nanoparticle formation. Gates is currently scaling up our process to produce an anti-malarial drug in WuXi in China. The second area is encapsulation and release of peptides, oligonucleotides and proteins. Our new process enables higher loadings and encapsulation efficiencies than have ever been achieved. The lab will fill one of the positions with a researcher with more biological experience and the other having more nanoparticle and materials experience. All of the research in the Prud'homme lab is collaborative and always spans fundamental understanding with translation to actual drug delivery.Research capabilities and experience that will be considered are:
*Nanoparticle formation and characterization
*Chemical conjugation and synthesis
*Cell culture
*Polymer material science and self-assembly
*SEM, TEM microscopy
*Dynamic light scattering
*Flow cytometry, confocal fluorescence microscopy
We expect to hire two researchers. No one researcher is expected to have all of these capabilities, but two with complementary expertise will be sought.
The Prud'homme lab values the ability to work as a team and to connect with our collaborators. Candidates should have the strong interpersonal and communications skills required to work productively with researchers from other groups, industry, to mentor graduate and undergraduate students and to support the research team.

Appointments are for one year with the possibility of renewal pending satisfactory performance and continued funding.
This position is subject to the University's background check policy.
