Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in Pharmacology at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey to study the role of mTOR kinase in growth control and anticancer mechanisms. Postdoctoral Fellows are expected to establish an innovative, collaborative research program addressing important and fundamental questions. Interdisciplinary and translational approaches are encouraged. Qualified candidates must be a recent recipient of Ph.D. graduate degree or in the process of completing training for Ph.D. graduate degree with a strong publication record and looking to move to the next stage of their training.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Conducts multidisciplinary research in the area of the role of mTOR kinase in growth control and anticancer mechanisms, including in vitro and in vivo models.
Prepares written reports of the research experiments.
Prepares manuscripts and grant proposals based on the research conducted.
Gives oral presentations of the research.

COVID-19 Immunization Requirement
Under Policy 60.1.35, Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Prospective employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster within two weeks (14 calendar days) of eligibility. Based on current guidance, individuals are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the final dose of any COVID-19 vaccine authorized or approved for use in the United States by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Eligibility for a booster against COVID-19 varies and is explained on the University's web site located at https://coronavirus.rutgers.edu/covid-19-vaccine. Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a prospective employee's offer of employment and/or disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Minimum Education and Experience
Recent Ph.D. or in the process of completing training for Ph.D.
Experience with cell culture and molecular/cell biology techniques is essential.
Must have first authored publications in high impact scientific journals.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate degree in Biomedical or Life Sciences.
Experience with mouse work.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Lifting up to 25 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Lab environment. Moderate noise. Exposure to blood, excrement, antineoplastic drugs, and possible exposure to infectious and communicable diseases. Universal precautions are mandatory. Exposure to hazardous chemicals.
