Job Description
One postdoc position is available immediately to work on NIH- and AHA-funded research projects in the areas of protein kinase signaling in cancer and stroke at the Department of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology, University of Pittsburgh. Our laboratory is involved in studies seeking to understand how protein kinase signaling is regulated in normal and diseased states and how they impact disease progression in cancer and ischemic stroke. The major research focuses are the pathological molecular mechanisms of protein kinase signaling, functional evaluation in mouse models of cancer and stroke, and development of protein kinase-targeted therapeutics for these diseases.Qualifications: Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent in a related field, solid training in molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, signal transduction, and strong written communication skills. Knowledge and experience with rodent models of cancer or cerebral ischemia are desirable. If interested, please send your curriculum vitae, a personal statement describing specific interest in this position and contact info for three referees to Q. Jane Wang, Ph.D. at [email protected]
