The Cancer Center of the TTUHSC School of Medicine (http://cancer.TTUHSC.edu) has positions open for outstanding postdoctoral fellows in the field of cancer developmental therapeutics. Projects currently recruiting for fellows are studying novel approaches to targeting c-MYC (PI: Min Kang, PharmD) and developing new approaches to treat alternate lengthening of telomere (ALT) cancers (PI: C Patrick Reynolds, MD Ph.D.). Cancer center faculty carry out translational and clinical research in cancer drug development and are funded by grants from CPRIT, the National Cancer Institute, Department of Defense, and foundations. The Cancer Center has core resource labs for pharmacology, cancer animal models, a robust cancer biobank, and an early-phase clinical trial consortium (www.SPONC.org). The Children’s Oncology Group Childhood Cancer Repository (www.COGcell.org) located at TTUHSC establishes, banks, and provides patient-derived cell lines and xenografts to investigators in 28 countries. Examples of recent publications from TREC faculty: PMID: 31484706; PMID: 32291317; PMID: 32409685; PMID: 34408079.Applicants must have a terminal degree (MD, Ph.D., PharmD, MD/Ph.D., or non-US equivalent), training in cancer molecular biology, and a strong publication record for their level of training.
