Job Description
A postdoctoral research associate position is available in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics at the University of Virginia to study the molecular and epigenetic mechanisms of leukemia. Areas of interest include hematopoietic stem cell biology, myeloproliferative neoplasms, myelodysplastic syndromes and acute myeloid leukemia. The projects will involve a variety of biochemical, cell biology and immunological techniques, and multi-omics approaches. We are looking for sincere and motivated individuals with scientific curiosity. The candidate must work independently and ethically, document all research data appropriately, assist graduate students in the lab, apply for independent funding where applicable, and publish data in qualified journals.Interested candidates with a recent PhD or MD/PhD degree in Biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, immunology or related field are encouraged to apply. Candidates should have a proven track record in research with first author publications in reputed journals. Experience in working with mouse models and flow cytometry is preferred.
