We are a rapidly growing international gene therapy company developing first-in-class therapeutics for various genetic disorders. We are looking for innovative and passionate scientists to join our growing team of 300+ scientists worldwide.
The candidate will work in a matrix environment as a member of a highly dynamic team and contributing to the development of novel research pipeline and technology.
Scientist or Senior Scientist will be responsible for developing novel viral gene transfer technologies, obtaining proof of concept studies and evaluating gene therapy strategies using AAV/Lenti vectors in animal models.
Specialized in AAV vector engineering, Glaucoma research, protein/antibody engineering, wAMD/DME study, and in vivo eye disease models.
Expertise in molecular biology including gene editing and expression vector construction in LV/AAV viral vectors for treatment of retinal, neuro, and infectious diseases.
Collaborate with cellular therapy team members in the design of novel, engineered AAV vectors for cell and gene therapy applications.
Evaluate in vitro and/or in vivo distribution of AAV vectors and gene expression analysis.
Actively involve with the development of discovery/research platforms through collaboration with gene transfer technology, preclinical, bioanalytical and cross-functional teams located in China.
Present data at internal meetings, scientific conferences, external collaborators/ publications and assist with IP filing.
Ph.D. or M.D., or equivalent degree in the field of Ophthalmology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics or Biological Sciences with 5-10 years of relevant research experience (academia and/or industry) in cell/gene therapy for retinal, neuro, and infectious diseases.
Ability to work collaboratively on internal functional teams and simultaneously on multiple projects.
Experience in animal/mouse studies including IV injection, tissue harvesting, blood/DNA/RNA isolation and qPCR skills.
Hands-on experience and familiarity with immunohistochemistry, microscopy, qPCR analysis, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, ELISA and HPLC.
Working knowledge of technologies regarding human cells as models for biomedical research, drug discovery, and cell/gene therapy applications are a plus.
Ability to independently plan and perform experiments, interpret data, draw conclusions and present at scientific meetings.
