ROLE of the POSITION
This is a 2-year postdoctoral position, starting in Summer or Fall 2021, to examine the relationship between misophonia sensitivity and high-level auditory processing of music and language in children and adults. The project uses both behavioral measures (surveys and perceptual tests) and electrophysiological measures (electroencephalography and facial electromyography).
This position requires a Ph.D. from a regionally accredited college or university in a related discipline (Psychology, Neuroscience, etc.) and 3-5 years’ experience in the related discipline. Preferred skills 1-3 years’ experience with supervising, mentoring and management of other. Excellent experimental and computer programming skills, a promising track record of publications in Psychology, Developmental Science, Speech and Hearing, Neuroscience, or another field related to the project. Specific experience with EEG, child testing, and/or advanced data analysis techniques is desirable but not required. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
Pursuant to Assembly Bill (AB) 3 passed by the Nevada State Legislature during the 31st Special Legislative Session, employees are required to take furlough at a 4.6 percent monthly reduction in compensation from January 1, 2021 through June 30, 2021.
