Job DescriptionPostdoctoral positions in gut microbiota, neurodegenerative disorders, and mitochondrial function are available at the Wellman Center for Photomedicines, Department of Dermatology, Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), and Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, USA. We seek highly motivated and qualified candidates with a Ph.D. or Ph.D/MD to investigate gut microbiota, and their relationship with neurodegenerative diseases, and a relationship between mitochondrial metabolism and muscle differentiation or neuron regeneration.
The candidates will also have a chance to work with other fellows in my laboratory in the research fields of universal influenza vaccines, laser-based antimicrobe technology, and photobiomodulation-mediated regeneration (please see recent publications in Science, Nature Nanotechnology, Science translational medicine, Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, and Nature communication). Massachusetts General Hospital is a major Boston teaching hospital and teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School. The postdoctoral fellows will be appointed at the Harvard Medical School and have access to a range of training opportunities available via both MGH and HMS. Salary will be according to NIH guidelines.
Requirement: The ideal candidates should have a Ph.D. or Ph.D/MD degree with strong background in cell biology, neurobiology, and molecular biology demonstrated by strong publications. Preference will be given to an individual who can work independently and is able to write manuscripts and scientific reports at a high level. The positions also require experience in working with animals.
