Postdoctoral Associates are trainees working in an apprenticeship mode in preparation for a career as a scientific professional.
Job Duties
A Postdoctoral Research Associate in Synthetic Organic/Medicinal Chemistry is available at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX. The successful candidate is expected to have recently obtained PhD and a strong track record of publications in the field. The main job duty is to design and synthesize compounds targeting biologically/pharmaceutically important proteins for cancer or infectious disease therapy. In addition, he/she would receive training in computational drug design, molecular biology and/or x-ray protein crystallography for career development.
