Job DescriptionPostdoctoral Fellow position available to pursue research supported by a National Institutes of Health grant. The position is funded by the grant for 3 years (renewable yearly depending on performance) starting December 2020 and is therefore contingent on the renewal of the reward. Although the position is paid with federal funds, the individual will be governed by the University of Charleston policies and procedures.
The scientist will work in Dr. Fandy’s lab and under his supervision. Our laboratory utilizes clinical samples to study the epigenome of leukemia cells using single cell multimodal omics, ChIP-Seq and transcriptomics.
¥ The fellow is expected to work independently to design, plan and perform experiments to generate preliminary data to apply for extramural funding and to publish original research.
¥ The fellow will also apply for grants (K, K99, F32, AACR, other postdoctoral grants) with the mentoring support of Dr. Fandy.
¥ The fellow will present findings at local and national meetings.
¥ Excellent oral and written skills are required with strong ability to work
effectively in a team environment.
¥ Ph.D. in biomedical sciences, immunology, pharmacology, or any related field is required.
¥ Preference will be given to those with previous experience in cancer epigenetics, epigenomics and proven record of publications.
