Job DescriptionPostdoctoral and Research Associate positions supported by multiple NIH/NCI R01 grants are available in the Zhang laboratory (http://med.uc.edu/zhanglab) at the Department of Cancer Biology, University of Cincinnati, USA. Located at the state-of-art Vontz Center for Molecular Studies, The Zhang laboratory focuses on elucidating molecular mechanisms of gene- and tissue-specific transcriptional cofactors and small RNAs (e.g. miRNA, enhancer RNA) in breast cancer [Mol Cell 19:89-100, PNAS 107: 6765, JBC 286:17746, EMBO J. 30:2405, Cancer Research 72:5625, ACS Nano 11(1):335, Cancer Research 78(2):422, Estrogen Receptor and Breast Cancer – Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Discovery of ER (1st ed, 2019, Springer Nature)]. We are using a combination of biochemical, molecular, genomic (RNA-seq, ChIP-seq) and mouse genetic (conditional knockout, mutant knockin, and overexpression) approaches. We are also currently developing RNA-based nano-therapeutics to target these cofactors to overcome therapeutic resistance and metastasis of human breast cancer.
