Job DescriptionDepartment Summary
The Department of Information Technology and Decision Sciences (ITDS) is comprised of two academic disciplines, Information Systems and Management Science. The ITDS department has 26 research and teaching faculty whose mission is to conduct cutting edge research and prepare the next generation of information systems, management science, and business analytics professionals. Our department offers degrees at the bachelors, masters, and PhD levels. Four of our degrees are STEM-designated — BS in IS and BBA. MBA, and MS in Business Analytics. ITDS has a long track record of producing well-prepared, motivated, and, ultimately, successful business professionals and academicians.
Basic job functions are (1) to teach undergraduate and/or graduate IS/BA/DA/DS/MS courses and develop such courses and/or curriculum, (2) to conduct high-quality research in IS/BA/DA/DS/MS or closely related fields independently and with faculty colleagues and/or doctoral students, (3) to advise, mentor, and recruit students, and (4) to render service to the department, college, university, and profession commensurate with their rank.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Information Systems (IS), Business Analytics/Data Analytics/Decision Sciences/Management Science (BA/DA/DS/MS), or a closely related discipline; experience effectively teaching undergraduate and/or graduate IS/BA/DA/DS/MS courses; and a proven ability to conduct research and publish in high-quality academic journals and/or conferences. Doctorate must be awarded from an AASCB or similarly accredited institution.
Excellent teaching and research productivity are key. A proven ability to conduct research and publish in top-quality (i.e., ABDC A*/A) IS/BA/DA/DS/MS academic journals. Experience obtaining research grants and other funding is desirable. Also desirable is significant work experience in a closely related field.
