Job DescriptionPosition Highlights This position is for a synthetic medicinal chemist who will act as a member of a medicinal chemistry team focused on small molecule drug discovery. The position requires proven experience in synthetic medicinal chemistry, including design and synthesis of small molecules with drug-like characteristics, including use of CAMD. The position will be supported in part by an Alzheimer's drug discovery R01 directed at positive allosteric modulators of NAD biosynthesis.

Duties & Responsibilities
Planning and execution of synthesis of small molecule synthons, hits, lead compounds, and development candidates.
Design of ligands and inhibitors for drug targets.
Purification and full characterization of small molecules along the drug discovery and development pipeline
Gram-scale synthesis and purification of development candidates for in vivo studies.
Use of CAMD and relevant in silico methods for drug discovery.
Trouble-shooting and optimizing synthetic methodology.
Mentoring of junior trainees.
Writing papers and patent applications.
PhD in synthetic and/or medicinal chemistry
Preferred Qualifications At least 1 year experience in drug discovery beyond a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry Synthesis; chromatography; characterization; basic CAMD; purification; scale-up synthesis; basic analytical
