The Department of Chemical Engineering (CHEG) at Carnegie Mellon awarded its first diplomas in 1908. Since then, the department has grown substantially in both stature and reputation, and now offers a bachelor of science degree, a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, a Master of Colloids, Polymers, and Surfaces degree, and a doctor of philosophy.
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Biegler research lab. In this role, research expertise on development and analysis of algorithms for parameter estimation, model discrimination and dynamic optimization is required.
PhD in Chemical Engineering, or related field;
Interdisciplinary strength in Process Systems Engineering;
A strong research record, documented by recent publications in top-tier conferences and journals;
Strong verbal/written communication skills;
Highly motivated and creative, enjoys working in a collaborative research environment.
The position is funded for one year with a potential for a second year renewal and is inclusive of competitive salary and benefits. The starting date is flexible, but January 2020 is desired.
