The Renal Pediatrics Genetics laboratory is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher to join its research group focused on the genetics and genomics of the human kidney. This is an opportunity for a self-motivated individual to participate in cutting edge research.
Performs molecular genetics techniques
Participates in analysis of genomic data
Maintains database and record keeping
Assists with research under the guidance of the PI, prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments, collects, compiles and analyzes data, documents results of experiments.
Prepares and writes manuscripts
Education: Ph.D in Genetics or a related field
Strong background in genetics/biology, including gene expression/PCR, DNA isolation, plasmid isolation, etc.
Experience in aseptic cell and tissue culture techniques
Able to read and understand laboratory methods
Highly responsible, dedicated to science and problem solving
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent organizational skills, prioritize task completion to meet schedules and deadlines as assigned
Ability to maintain detailed laboratory records
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills
Enjoy learning new technologies and assays
Good oral and written communication skills
Prior experience with laboratory rodents is desirable
