Research Fellow - Oncology Research (Cancer Metabolism)

The Hitosugi Laboratory in the division of Oncology Research at Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN invites applications for Postdoctoral Research Fellow for an NIH R01 funded project. The lab is primarily interested in the metabolism of cancer and the development of novel therapeutic approach targeting tumor specific metabolic alteration. The lab also collaborates closely with the laboratories in Mayo Clinic Cancer Center. Individuals interested in projects focused on examining mitochondrial metabolism in cancer are encouraged to apply. The latest paper from the lab can be found in the February 6th issue of Cell Reports.
A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars and Research Scholars sponsored by Mayo Clinic.
Qualified candidiates must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in any field of biochemistry, biology, pharmacology, and medicine. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere. Additional qualifications include wet bench experience including molecular biology skills such as subcloning, cell culture, immunoprecipitation and Western blotting. At least one first author research paper in the area of biological science is preferred. Experience with animal work related to cancer is preferable but not required.
