Summary
The Behavioral Plasticity Research Institute (BPRI) is a NSF Biological Integration Institute focused on understanding how behavioral plasticity in grasshoppers (i.e., locust phase polyphenism) leads to locust plagues and its ecological implications. The BPRI has a Postdoctoral Fellow position available in the laboratories of Drs. Dierick and Gabbiani in the Departments of Genetics/Neuroscience at Baylor College of Medicine.

Job Duties
- Studies how epigenetic changes related to locust phase polyphenism impact the properties of neurons in the visual system of locusts.
- The techniques involved will encompass:
- electrophysiology,
- fluorescence imaging,
- genetic engineering,
- genomics.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
