Position Description
The Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at the Columbia University Medical Center would like to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to work in the laboratory of Dr. Andrew Teich. We are looking for a scientist with a systems biology background whose primary job will be to analyze transcriptomic, genomic, and proteomic data that are being generated through multiple ongoing projects related to Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases of aging. The PI is the Director of the New York Brain Bank, and this serves as a resource both for our research as well as for the education of laboratory members in neurodegenerative disease biology. Our laboratory is a wet/dry lab that also does work in model systems, and we collaborate widely with other laboratories at Columbia University. The job candidate would thus have the opportunity to work in an integrated environment and further his or her exposure to experimental “wet-lab” science.
Qualifications
Proficiency with the Linux environment and experience analyzing data using Matlab, R, and Python is required. Candidates with a Ph.D. degree and prior experience working with genomic data are preferred.
Application Instructions
Please upload your CV through Interfolio. If you have further questions about the position, please contact the PI (Dr. Andrew Teich; email: [email protected]) to inquire for more details.
