The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at New Mexico State University (NMSU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor (Position XXXXXX) level beginning August 2022. This is an open search and applicants with teaching interests and research expertise in all areas of chemistry, including interdisciplinary and chemical education, are encouraged to apply. Our department has strong doctoral and undergraduate programs and promotes research, development, and education in all areas of chemistry and biochemistry. The ideal applicant is expected to conduct innovative research that complements and expands existing expertise in the department and to establish an outstanding, externally funded research program. Collaboration across broad areas of scientific study and participation in multi-investigator grant funding are encouraged. Candidates are expected to have a strong record of research accomplishments in their area. Teaching assignments may include courses in General / Organic Chemistry and in the successful candidate’s area of expertise.
