- Posting Date: May 3, 2021
Job DescriptionAn NIH funded postdoc position in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is available in the laboratory of Dr. Chen Chen at Michigan State University. The Chen lab studies the biology of small noncoding RNAs in development and diseases using molecular, biochemical, genetic and genomic approaches. Current projects focus on the piRNA pathway in gene and genome regulation. Related publications: Ding D et al. Nucleic Acids Research 2020; Sun YH et al, Nature Cell Biology 2020; Ding D et al. Nature Communications 2018. http://www.canr.msu.edu/people/chen_chen
The Chen laboratory is located in a state-of-the-art research building with outstanding research environment and support (https://vp.research.msu.edu/news/new-research-building-opens). The funded projects will investigate the mechanism and functional significance of small RNA pathway in gene silencing and regulation. Proposed studies will investigate the interactions of protein and RNA in small RNA biogenesis machinery (e.g. Tudor domain, LOTUS domain, RNA G-quadruplex, transmembrane proteins). The projects have important implications in understanding the onset of human diseases.
The successful candidate should hold a recent Ph.D. in biological sciences. A strong research background in biochemistry, molecular biology or structural biology is preferred.
