Job DescriptionOur lab seeks to understand how chromatin modifier gene mutations affect bladder cancer initiation, progression, and therapy response. We also have a strong interest in understanding the molecular anatomy of the benign urinary tract. We use a variety of biochemical, molecular biology, next generation sequencing (including single cell sequencing), and genome editing techniques to study these processes in cell culture, murine, and patient-derived models such as organoids and xenografts. You will also have the opportunity to work directly with patient specimens obtained from our large clinical practice.
The ideal candidate will have already mastered fundamental techniques in biochemistry, molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology. Additionally, candidates must have a doctorate degree (Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D.), excellent spoken and written communication skills, and a strong publication record that demonstrates the candidate's ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Other desirable skills include the ability to perform computational biology analyses of next generation sequencing data and experience with mouse models. Importantly, you will be expected to take a lead role in initiating a new project and driving it to completion through independent experimental design, troubleshooting, data generation and analysis, and manuscript preparation.
