Immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in the Longworth Laboratory in the Department of Inflammation and Immunity at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute. Individuals with experience and knowledge of techniques in molecular biology, genetics, and biochemistry, and with expertise in mitochondrial biology and metabolism research are encouraged to apply.
Candidate must be familiar with cultivation of cell lines; previous experience with organoid-based systems is desired, but not required. Candidate must also be familiar with Western blotting, qRT-PCR, immunofluorescence assays, and various cloning techniques. Familiarity with lenti- and retroviral based systems of nucleic acid delivery, and expression of exogenous proteins is required. Experience using CRISPR/Cas9 and/or chromatin based techniques such as ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, and 3C/4C-seq are advantages. Candidate will be expected to design, implement and manage research projects focused on newly discovered mechanisms that lead to Reactive Oxygen Species accumulation in epithelial stem cells and their role in tumor development.
Ph.D. with relevant laboratory experience is required. Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
