We are seeking applications from the qualified candidates with expertise in the biology of neurodegenerative disease animal mouse models. Candidates with a strong background in molecular biology, neuroscience and biochemistry are encouraged to apply. They will work in a highly collaborative environment, focusing on investigating the pathological function and roles neuronal protein kinases on the development of proteinopathy and neurotoxicity.
The research will be based at the Laboratory of Molecular NeuroTherapeutics, Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, Boston University School of Medicine, and will involve interactions with collaborators in other institutes in Boston area. The main focus of the lab is the identification and therapeutic intervention of target genes and cell types for the treatment or prevention of neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease and other tauopathies.
The ideal candidates will be expected to work independently, and keep records and data of all scientific experiments according to the established procedures. They also will draft technical reports, manuscripts for scientific journals, and present work internally and externally as needed. They are also expected to occasionally supervise students, act as a source of information and advice to other members of the group on scientific protocols and experimental techniques.
Each applicant must possess an advanced degree (Ph.D or M.D.,Ph.D.) in a relevant field. Candidates with strong experience in gene silencing and biochemistry are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidates should be team players with high scientific standards and communication skills, and have the ability to work in an interactive, fast-paced environment.
